Tell a Friend
Okay, so I have never, ever, ever had any sort of online journal, but I absolutely love to write, so here goes. Please come be my online friend, people! I promise I am a cool girl, you'll be glad you got to know me.

Shit. What if nobody wants to be my friend and I'm stuck as an online journaling loser who just writes with the hope that someone is out there reading about her life?

Well, let's try this out. I live in a really nice apt in Denver, which I moved into in May after the dissolution of an incredibly tumultuous relationship. Although I am 30, I am in a "who am I?" phase of my life because as a young mom (at 18), I never really got that exploration time. I grew up playing classical piano and became pretty accomplished at that, but recently I sat down at the old Roland and decided that it's time for me to start writing MY OWN music, so that's what I've been working on. It's fucking hard! Harder than I would have ever thought. So any musicians out there...I'd love some advice. I have written one melody but I'm finding that while I can easily play anyone else's music, it's so difficult to be creative! It's like musician's block!

I am a huge book nerd as well. Favorites are The Unbearable Lightness of Being by Milan Kundera, You Shall Know Our Velocity by Dave Eggers, Masque of the Red Death, a story by Edgar Allan Poe, anything by Maya Angelou, and infinite others.

So here's who I'd love to meet: Creative thinkers such as artists, musicians, writers and photographers. People interested in social justice and / or ecological issues. People who take action to make the world a better place. People who have a "dark" hobby or fascination like for vampires (I don't know why - I just find these people to be cool, free thinkers). Spiritual people - Buddhists, Sufis, Hindus. Other mental health professionals. Other younger moms who have not succombed to the dreary suburban existence - people who are moms first but also have a unique and distinct identity. Or moms who do live a dreary suburban existence but argue that it is, in fact, not dreary at all. Philosophers. Women who are strong, fierce, and brave. Feminists. Transgendered people, because they are unbelievably brave and strong to live congruently in a world that scorns difference. Anyone at all who identifies with anything I've written.
